Full name:
Katie Wright

Job title:

Account Broker

How long have you worked at Xenia?
One year and nine months.

What this role means/area is:
I work as an account broker in the Sawbridgeworth office. My role is client-facing, dealing with all aspects of the day-to-day running of the credit insurance policy. Applying for credit limits, reporting overdues and submitting claims.

What do you like about Xenia/Why do you like working for Xenia?
The people. Xenia has the best of the best in the credit insurance market. We all have the same goal, to be the best. Client service is our top priority.

A piece of advice you'd give your younger self?
Never doubt yourself.

What's your most commonly asked question in your job role and how would you answer it? Or a top tip using your expert advice:
Make sure you have your credit limit on the correct legal entity in which you are trading.

How did you get into the insurance sector?
By accident! I completed a Youth Training Scheme (YTS) at Trade Indemnity (Euler/Allianz as it’s known today) which gained me an NVQ in administration 25 years ago, and the rest as they say is history.

What do you do at Xenia and what does your typical day look like?
Lots of credit limit requests from clients and working on claims in order to ensure they are processed and paid promptly helping to protect our clients' cashflow.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
Talking to our clients and helping them maximise their credit insurance policy.

How has the job changed since you started your career?

I have been lucky enough to work on both sides of the coin in credit insurance, being an underwriter has helped me become a better broker and understand the entire market from all angles. Being close to the clients is my favourite part of my job.

Where do you see Xenia going over the next few years?
I see Xenia becoming the largest specialist insurance broker with the best personal service from people who really care about their clients.

Tell us something most people don't know about you/what's your hidden talent?
I am a very good trampolinist and used to compete around the country. My coach thought I’d be an Olympian but it turned out I love cake, I mean credit Insurance more…

What job would you be doing if you weren't doing this one?
An actress, in the West End theatres. Musicals would be my dream, the trouble is - as my colleagues can vouch - I am a little tone deaf!

What would you say to a young person who wants to get into insurance?
You will meet wonderful people and learn something new everyday. Enjoy the adventure.

What do you do to relax?
Go to work! I have three young boys so life is pretty hectic but fun.
